Google Map will soon tell users if taxi drivers are veering off course to jack up the fare

If you are under constant fear that your taxi driver is taking advantage of you and taking a longer route so that they can jack up the fare, then Google will soon be releasing a tool for you which will help you understand if you are taking the shorter route or not.

Users will always be able to use google maps to make sure that they are going in the right direction. The new feature in Google Maps will definitely help make sure that the taxi driver is taking the shortest route without you having to constantly monitor your trip. Google is now testing the feature and will notify you once your taxi driver takes a detour to jack up the fare.

This feature will come in handy for all the cities’ rides and will also help you get live locations in your route. Google will be sending an alert to your smartphone every time you go about 500 meters off route. This feature will help you choose one route and your map will not be constantly updated as it does.

Once you get any kind of alert, you can notify the driver so that they can again come back to their notified route. All you need to do is simply keep tabs on your driver and you will be good to go.

This feature from Google Maps will be available in India and will come in handy all the time for travelers. It is still not clear if the feature will be available to other areas or not, but something like this will surely come in handy for people, visiting new places and taking taxis in unknown routes for personal or business trips.
